American Cancer Society's campaign, Real Men Wear Pink . . .

begins October 1 and runs through October 31, 2019. Dr. Kelly Ferrell, Board Certified Radiologist at Breast Diagnostic Center, will participate in the 3rd annual Real Men Wear Pink campaign. He has two requirements from ACS - 1.) To wear pink every day in October and 2.) To raise a minimum of $2,500.

Two years ago, Breast Diagnostic Center (BDC) was approached by American Cancer Society to partake in their new campaign, Real Men Wear Pink. Dr. William C. Petty, Medical Director at BDC proudly accepted the challenge in the Fall of 2017. Dr. Petty and his staff fundraised with energy and passion and wore a generous amount of pink attire during October. The following year, Fall of 2018, Dr. Jay T. Jones picked up the baton from Dr. Petty to fundraise in the 2nd annual Real Men Wear Pink campaign. Since the inception of RMWP, these two BDC radiologists have raised over $10,000 and wore a substantial amount of PINK while united in their fight against breast cancer.

This year, Fall of 2019, Dr. Kelly Ferrell, radiologist at FWRadiology, who specializes in breast imaging, will energetically grab the baton from Dr. Jones and participate in the 3rd annual Real Men Wear Pink campaign. Dr. Ferrell, representing BDC, will be wearing pink every day during the month of October, help educate people about the importance of early screening and fundraise for a great cause. Donations from the 2019 RMWP campaign will again support the American Cancer Society in their efforts to help save lives from breast cancer through early detection and prevention, innovative breast cancer research and patient support. Breast Diagnostic Center and its staff have been proud supporters of the American Cancer Society and its various campaigns for decades. In 1991, in its infancy, Making Strides Against Breast Cancer was called Summit City 10K run. BDC was an event sponsor at the 1991 campaign and has been an avid annual sponsor since. To date, BDC will be a returning “Water Station” sponsor at the 2019 Making Strides Against Breast Cancer campaign. BDC takes prides in not only providing our patients with excellent care, but also historically giving back to our community. The Breast Diagnostic Center was the first dedicated breast center in Fort Wayne to be accredited by the American College of Radiology. Since 1989, the Center has maintained its accreditation due to the training and experience of the radiologists and technologists. All Breast Diagnostic Center sites are FDA Certified.

See what our Patients are saying

“I have been going to Breast Diagnostic Center for many years, and the technicians have always been really caring and professional. It’s a good feeling knowing you are going to a facility that doesn’t feel so clinical. The process is easy and they take great care of their patients.”
