Relay for Life of NACS Fighting Cancer

Breast Diagnostic Center (BDC) is a proud Silver Sponsor at Relay for Life of NACS Fighting Cancer.  BDC, a joint service of FWRadiology and Parkview Health, would like to invite you to join us at Relay for Life on Saturday, May 4, 2019, from 3:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. The event will be located at Carroll Middle School, 4027 Hathaway Road, Fort Wayne, Indiana.

The event is an organized 7 hour community fundraiser to help end cancer, uniting our community to fight back against this disease.  Although every Relay for Life event is different, they do have a few things in common:

Event Schedule
Opening Ceremony
Time to get started. We kick off the event by honoring everyone who’s been affected by cancer and everyone who has contributed to the success of this year’s Relay season.

Survivor/Caregiver Walk
Survivors and caregivers are the heart and soul of Relay For Life events. We honor their strength and courage with every step they take. It doesn’t matter if you were diagnosed 10 days ago or 10 years ago, you can walk while everyone gathers together to cheer you on.

Luminaria Ceremony
During this ceremony we represent everyone touched by cancer with a Luminaria. Each light represents a life–a life taken by cancer, a survivor of cancer, or a support for a person still fighting the disease. It’s a powerful demonstration that gives people the opportunity to grieve but also offers comfort and hope.

Closing Ceremony
Our closing ceremony is the time to commit to take action and help lead the fight for a world free from cancer. It’s a time to celebrate what we’ve accomplished together and a time to unify for the work that needs to be done moving forward.

American Cancer Society's campaign, Real Men Wear Pink

ended on October 31, 2018. Our very own Dr. Jay T. Jones, Board Certified Radiologist at Breast Diagnostic Center, placed 3rd in the local campaign and raised $5,024 for ACS.

Thank you from Dr. Jay T. Jones

"In support of the American Cancer Society's Real Men Wear Pink campaign, I was determined to wear PINK every day in the month of October, 2018, which included a variety of PINK attire and also PINK fingernails and toenails! Engaging the Fort Wayne community in breast cancer awareness was the BEST part. When people asked about my PINK fingernails, I had an opportunity to talk about early detection and breast cancer prevention.  Thank you so much to the Breast Diagnostic Center staff who helped me fundraise for a great cause and the numerous supporters who donated to the American Cancer Society."

See what our Patients are saying

“I have been going to Breast Diagnostic Center for many years, and the technicians have always been really caring and professional. It’s a good feeling knowing you are going to a facility that doesn’t feel so clinical. The process is easy and they take great care of their patients.”
